Yes!!! It's officially 2009, and I don't know about you, but I'm completing one of my resolutions right now! I myself find it wierd that a 14 year old would have a goal such as to start a blog, but we younger teenagers can't get a job -- and of course, that results in no money... Like most parents, as I would imagine, mine harp that I should try to earn my own keep and quit wasting their retirement money on movies. (But they're wrong! I Am Legend was TOTALLY worth seeing...) So, out of complete hope, I am dearly wishing that this blog and my seemingly pointless thoughts will earn me some cash!
But, of course, don't get the wrong impression! I really truly enjoy writing and would perfer to shut myself up in a dark room and type about life rather than live it. (Hahaha, well, only sometimes!) I'd been wanting to start a blog for a while anyways, and the chance of earning some green sealed the deal... Although I'm not quite sure yet what I want this specific blog to be about, I certianly want people to have fun reading it. My plan is to write about my interests and attach stuff on them... Well, that may be a little vague, but once I have time to really work on this I'm sure you will see what I mean! With my new camera I'll have plenty of photos and videos for you guys and I'll be sure to add a link to anything I find interesting on the web.
What I REALLY wanted to write about though was the shortage of fireworks this year!!! I know for sure that in my city, about 3 fireworks went off. Talk about a half-assed welcome to the new year... I've only heard about the failing economy, because my family has not yet been affected by it, but tonight it hit me when I heard the news. Somehow I guess I had the idea that all this drama about losing jobs and rising gas prices was all talk, but it really does make you understand how bad it is when these expensive casinos and hotels set off a few sparklers instead of the normal light show. The city saved quite a lot -- about $30,000 -- by forgetting about the fireworks, and I see their logic... New Year's Eve just isn't quite the same without big balls of glitter blowing up in the sky...
Hope your New Year's was better than mine!!! HAPPY 2009!!!
